An integrated skills approach to supporting English language development
English language specialists have an integral and ongoing role in the process of supporting the English language development of the EAL student on an internationalised campus - in language preparation, language support throughout their degree and preparation for their exit language test.
Using the TOEFL iBT as a model this workshop will discuss ways of implementing an integrated skills approach to supporting English language development pre-course and in-course and for those students needing to undertake an exit proficiency test. The workshop will provide opportunities to discuss the strengths and challenges of this approach and provide tools for incorporating an integrated skills approach into teaching practice.
